Connecting you with us
1
We get to know each other
Firstly we listen!
The first time we meet, we take a thorough medical history, ask questions around your complaint and discuss how we can assist you. We’d like to get to know the cause of the problem.
2
Hands on treatment
We examine and explain what we think might be causing your complaint.
We believe the body is a unit and all its parts are interconnected. Therefore we treat hollistically, treating above and below areas of pain or dysfunction. We will aim to explain what and why we are doing the things we do.
3
Take home
We will discuss how long your complaint may take to resolve and how many consultations you might need.
You will be provided with advise appropriate to your problem. This might be to ice, to heat, stretch, strengthen, use of supplement or support items.
"I saw couple of alternate health professionals for my chronic shoulder and neck injury, but they were unable to treat my pain effectively. After seeing Dr Esen, she was able to manage my pain and treat the injured areas. I have been pain free ever since! "

FAQs
Will I need to undress?
To be able to thoroughly examine and treat the body, you may need to disrobe some areas.
However if you feel uncomfortable, please bring shorts, or items you feel comfortable in, and we will work around that. We also use towels to drape, so you will be covered for most of the consultation.
How many times will I need to come in?
This really depends on what the problem is, and what is causing it. We like to get to root of the cause, and prevent it from causing any other injuries in the body. Your Osteopath will talk you through the process of healing.
Will my neck be cracked?
We manipulate the spine using many different techniques. If you are not wanting to have your neck “cracked“, then we can definietly use other techniques that are just as effective. We will only use techniques we find is appropriate to the patient. This depends on patients age, any other illnesses they may have or other contraindications to particular treatment techniques.
What is the difference between an Osteo and a Physio or a Chiro?
We are all therapists with knowledge on Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and Biomechanics of the body. Every practitioner treats differently, not even two Osteopaths treat the same!
At Nexus our approach is based on structure affecting function. We look at symmetry, tissue texture change, range of motion and strength to improve the body. We are hands on practitioners, that treat the body as a whole.
